Residential trips have great benefits for pupils and we feel strongly that education is not restricted to the classroom. It is of great advantage and stimulating to the pupils to make visits out of school to places of educational interest.
We offer a number of residential trips abroad for pupils in years 7 to 10.
There are visits to France and Germany and to Italy for skiing. All the trips are run by experienced team leaders with visits planned well in advance to aid parents. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in a residential trip to an outdoor activity centre in the Lake District.
Examples of places visited are:
- Great Yorkshire Show
- Science Museum in London
- Museum of Science and Technology in Manchester
- York Railway Museum
- Theatres in Manchester, Lancaster, Liverpool and Preston
- National Photographic Museum in Bradford
- Stocks Reservoir
- British Aerospace
- Lowry Centre
- Castle Cement
In the summer holidays the school organises literacy and numeracy schools for new pupils.
