GCSE Results Day 2015/16

Record number of pupils achieving 5 A*-C grades including English and maths – 78%

Progress 8 measure score: +0.56

Well done to all of the pupils who sat GCSEs this summer at a time when extra challenge is being added to the examinations. We are delighted that overall performance at GCSE level is as high as it has ever been at Bowland in terms of both attainment and progress.

An average of two thirds of a grade has been added to those pupils were expected to get based on the levels they achieved at primary school, meaning the young people here have been stretched to achieve their full potential right across the curriculum.

These results are a tribute to the dedication and hard work of pupils and staff at Bowland, as well as the support received from parents. We are proud of the outcomes, but even more proud of the attitude and commitment it has taken to achieve them.

We wish everybody well as you move to the next stage in your education and hope you enjoy continued success and fulfilment in your chosen courses and apprenticeships.
